October again was a strong month for sales of electric Renaults. In total, 1,957 units of the automaker’s four electric models were sold worldwide (10% up year-over-year), which is the best result this year and one of the strongest ever for Renault. YTD numbers almost reach 13,000 unit after 10 months.
If we exclude the 226 Twizy sold, we see 1,705 full size cars (up 16% year-over-year) – the second best result ever (June 2013 exceeded 1,850).
Renault ZOE sales hit 1,298 (plus some 26 registered as delivery version), very close to the record. Thanks to high sales in the last two months, ZOE almost matched last year’s 12-month result and should be able to improve a few percent by year’s end. The mark of 10,000 units (missed in previous year) is still within reach for 2014.
Renault Kangoo Z.E. is going in the opposite direction, down 26% in October to 400 units, and down 33% YTD.
According to our data, Renault crossed 50,000 cumulative EV sales last month (36,000 excluding Twizy).
*PC is passenger version, while LCV is delivery version. In case of ZOE, it’s more a registration category than actually a design change. ZOE sales in 2012 include demo cars, as official sales began later.
