The European Automobile Manufacturers Association just released plug-in electric car registration numbers for most countries in Europe (EU + Norway and Switzerland) for the first quarter of 2015.
Results are very good as all-electric and plug-in hybrid passenger car registrations grew in the EU by 117.9% year-over-year to 24,630. This time we don’t have separate numbers for BEVs and PHEVs.
Norway and Switzerland moved up too by a strong 40.3% and 105.6% respectively.
In total ,registrations hit 33,835 – on track to well over 120,000 in 2015. In 2014, the whole year ended at 75,331.
UK, with 8,026 registrations (mostly PHEVs), almost exceeded Norway with 8,099 (mostly BEVs). The third strongest market is now Germany with 4,542. UK also noted the highest growth by over 450%.
